Congratulations!
Well done to Captain Steve Wilkins and his partner Graham Rich on winning the qualifying round of the Daily Mail Foursomes with a very impressive 41 points. Also well done to Pat Butler on winning the Ladies October Stableford with 40 points.
Well done to Kieran Faulkner on his ninth position in the National Finals of the Junior Daily Telegraph competition at Quinta do Lago in Portugal.
It's coming
Christmas that is. Sorry, we know it's only October and we're not saying we're going to decorate the shop just yet, but there are some fantastic new releases arriving in store and if you are one of those organised types who gets thing sorted early, be sure to check out our pro shop.
Here's an idea: if you have your heart set on a new driver, or set of irons, perhaps a new crested club sweater… forward this email to that person who has an interest in what's on your Christmas list and you could be on to a winner!
Talking of winners, there was another victory for one of the game's hottest prospects at the weekend. Following Matt Fitzpatrick's triumph at Woburn, Andy Sullivan cruised to a nine-shot win at the Portugal Masters. You couldn't help but be impressed with the way the 29-year-old went about his business on the final day. Nerves? What nerves.
If you would like to order something in preparation for Christmas or need help with your course management when coming up the last few holes, please click here to send us an email and we will be delighted to offer you some help.
I hope you all enjoyed The Open, I loved the fact that a non "bomber" won it at St Andrews! Zach showed it wasn't all about 340 yard drives and that the wedge game from 100 yards and in is still the most important aspect of the game.
And the winner is!
Over the last couple of weeks we have been running a survey asking you which you see as most important when you buy golf clubs: Brand, Price or Fit.
Well we can tell you the results were overwhelming in favour of Fit with 86% of you thinking this was most important. 7% of you thought that Price was most important and 7% of you thought that Brand was the most important criteria when buying golf clubs.
Congratulations to Roger Jones who was drawn out at random from those that entered and wins the dozen Srixon AD333 golf balls.
Winter is coming...
With winter approaching fast, we have made sure that we are stocked up with winter boots, hand warmers and woolly hats. The new TaylorMade M1 driver is now in stock and has already created a vast amount of interest. Club fittings and lessons will still be available throughout the winter months, weather permitting.
